Todd Snyder has released a New Balance T500 collaboration called the Cafe Pack. BUSINESSMAN reports a 22 October launch, with two colourways: Espresso and Milk. Todd Snyder’s official page lists the pair at $130 and says it is exclusive to the retailer.
A new surface, not a new silhouette
The starting point is the T500, first made as a court shoe in 1982. For the Cafe Pack, the usual canvas gives way to curling hairy suede, while the logo is crocodile-stamped leather. The rubber outsole carries a herringbone tread and a pivot circle at the forefoot; Todd Snyder also specifies raised foam arch support and a gum midsole.
The coffee reference is a colour story rather than extra ornament: dark Espresso and pale Milk evoke beans and café steam. It is a restrained update intended for everyday wear, though shoppers should check the retailer for current sizes.
