On October 15, IWC introduced the Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 Year of the Goat. Limited to 500 pieces, it pairs a gold-colored dial with a titanium case. Three goats decorate the automatic movement’s rotor.
The watch offers two perspectives: everyone sees the dial, while the owner discovers the movement’s decoration after taking it off. A festive theme becomes part of a personal ritual.
The MEN’S 404 view
Our interest in pieces like this starts with personal taste. Do you enjoy the color? Is the time easy to read? Would you want to return to that detail every day? Production numbers and calendar symbolism add a story, but the pleasure of owning an object rests on tangible experiences. Those are worth keeping in mind when looking at a much-discussed watch launch.
